Chapter 1 Conforming to Safety Category
[Safety category 4] Summary of Requirements
• Follow the safety principles to ensure safety.
• The safety related parts shall be designed under the following directions
(1) A single fault in any of its parts shall not lead to the loss of a safety function.
(2) The single fault shall be detected at or before the next demand on the safety function. If this detection is
not possible then an accumulation of faults shall not lead to a loss of safety function.
[4] Category 4 (When SCON is not to be connected)
In this example of circuit, the electromagnetic contactor cuts off the power input connector MP+24V
on the gateway unit. However, it is available also to have a circuit to cut off the drive cutoff connectors
MPO and MPI on each driver unit.
