What to do if repeater does not return status reply on Icom ID-51A?
    • K
      Katherine RodriguezAug 29, 2025
If the repeater does not return a status reply after your call using the Icom Transceiver, the repeater setting may be wrong, so select the correct repeater. Your transmission may not have reached the repeater, so correct the repeater frequency, frequency offset, or duplex setting. You may also need to get closer to the repeater or try accessing another repeater.

Why is no reply received after a call on Icom ID-51A Transceiver?
    • R
      Richard ChandlerAug 28, 2025
If you are not receiving a reply after making a call on your Icom Transceiver, ensure that the duplex is not set, and the receive and transmit frequencies are not different. Set the simplex operation. Also, consider that no station may be in range or on the same frequency; wait for a while and try again.

Why does my Icom Transceiver repeater reply ‘RX’ or ‘RPT?’ and the access repeater’s call sign after my call?
    • R
      Robert HammondSep 14, 2025
If the repeater replies ‘RX’ or ‘RPT?’ and the access repeater’s call sign after your call, your own call sign (MY) may not have been set (set your own call sign (MY)), or your own call sign (MY) may not have been registered on a gateway repeater, or the registered contents do not match your transceiver’s setting (register your own call sign (MY) on a gateway repeater, or confirm the registration of the call sign).

Why Icom Transceiver position data cannot be received?
    • L
      lisa90Sep 18, 2025
Position data may not be received if an external GPS is selected in the GPS SET item on the Menu screen, but an external GPS receiver is not connected. Connect an external GPS receiver. Lindsay GuzmanAug 27, 2025
If your Icom Transceiver isn't receiving position data, check the GPS settings in the Menu. If 'External GPS' is selected but no external GPS receiver is connected, connect one. If 'OFF' or 'Manual' is selected, switch to either 'Internal GPS' or 'External GPS'. Also, ensure that the transceiver is receiving a GPS signal by moving to a location where the signal is stronger.

Why is transmitting impossible with my Icom Transceiver?
    • R
      Rachel CamposAug 26, 2025
If you cannot transmit with your Icom Transceiver, first ensure that the transmit power level isn't set too low (S-LOW, LOW1, or LOW2); if it is, set it to HIGH. Check the battery; if it's exhausted, charge or replace it. If you're using a battery case, switch to the battery pack or external DC power and set the power level to HIGH. Finally, verify that the PTT Lock and Busy Lockout functions are deactivated in the Function Menu.
