IEC 61850 Communications
IEC 61850 Configuration
➤ 002L (Original Prefixes): This file is recommended for use in
maintaining version 001 logical node names in an SEL-751A
with firmware R102 or later. You may want to select this file so
you can continue using the original logical node names in a
project compatible with newer SEL firmware.
➤ 002 Short LN Prefixes (Default): This file is similar to version
002L, but has logical node prefixes and instances constrained to
7 characters or less. This file is recommended for most
applications, especially in IEC 61850 installations where
logical node names must meet this criterion.
➤ 002 R200 or greater: Constrained Logical Node names as
above, with additional logical nodes made accessible in
SEL-751A R200 or higher firmware. Select this file to enable
access to these additional logical nodes. Note: Using this file
with SEL-751A firmware versions lower than R200 may cause
unexpected behavior.
➤ 002 R300 or greater: Constrained Logical Node names as
above, with additional logical nodes made accessible in
SEL-751A R300 or higher firmware. Select this file to enable
access to these additional logical nodes. Note: Using this file
with SEL-751A firmware versions lower than R300 may cause
unexpected behavior.
CID File Conversion
If you attempt to download a version 001 CID file to a relay with firmware
R102 or later, Architect will detect the incompatibility and offer to convert the
existing file. If you agree,
ACSELERATOR Architect will modify the existing
CID file so that the relay can successfully process it. Note that
ACSELERATOR
Architect will only prompt you to perform this conversion when it recognizes
that the CID file it is trying to download is unsupported. This is done on a per-
file basis. That is, there is no option to do a batch conversion of all CID files in
a project. Also, if you want to preserve any CID file modifications, ensure that
you save the project before exiting
ACSELERATOR Architect. See Tab le F. 7 for
a summary of the logical nodes provided with each ICD file version.
