Penetrating the Wall for Boom Utilities
This is where the electrical and plumbing utilities can be routed from the equipment room to feed
the boom.
It is critical that this task is performed correctly! There can be NO rubbing or chafing
in this area. The movement of the Boom is such that, unless done properly, there is a
good chance the utility lines will pre-maturely wear or fail in this area if they are not
secured and protected properly.
Typically, the wall should be penetrated with rigid components.
We recommend using 1-1/2” rigid or thin wall conduit to route the electrical lines
from the equipment room to the boom. PVC can also be used if supported
properly.
3/4” stainless tubing or piping is preferred for the plumbing lines.
