Motors should not be run unloaded or uncoupled from the pump at any
time; damage to the motor bearings will occur.
•
Note: REMINDER: Do not start the pump before priming or venting the pump (See Figure 5d on
the previous page). NEVER OPERATE THE PUMP DRY.
•
Freeze Protection
If the pump is installed in an area where freezing could occur, both the pump and system should be drained during
freezing temperatures to avoid damage. To drain the pump:
Close the isolation valves.
Remove the priming plug and drain plug at the base of the pump. Do not replace the plugs until the pump is to be
used again.
Note: Always replace the drain plug with the original or exact replacement. Do not replace with a
standard plug. Internal recirculation will occur, reducing the output pressure and flow.
Chemical Tire Applicator (if applicable)
To startup the optional Chemical Tire Applicator (CTA), perform the following:
Contact your chemical supplier to get the correct dilution ratio for the specific chemical you will be using as well as
the climate of your location.
Note: Dilution is adjusted by changing the induction tip located on the HydroMinder assembly.
Insert the chemical pick up tube into the raw chemical container.
Make sure that the foam air regulator is turned all the way down by rotating the adjustment knob clockwise.
Force the CTA output function in your controller ON, energizing the CTA timer panel.
While pressing the prime button located on the timer enclosure adjust pump air pressure to 60psi.
Continue holding the prime button once the lines are full.
Adjust the foam air regulator to 20psi,
Release the prime button and return the CTA function in your control panel to the auto position.
Run a few test vehicles of various sizes and adjust the nozzles on the CTA applicators to maximize coverage on
both wide and narrow vehicles.
