Chapter 17 Onboard Dryer Options
Overview
Advantages
Shorter overall bay length.
Quicker setup time compared to having a Free-Standing Dryer since the machine ships from the factory with
the dryer already installed.
Maintenance can be performed much closer to ground level compared to a typical Belanger® Air Cannon™
dryer that is higher off the ground.
Less power consumption since there are only 2 motors that do all the drying compared to the Air Cannon™
30, 50, and 70 that are offered as the free-standing dryer.
The car wash owner controls the number of cycles and speed of dryer operation, through the programming.
This control can be better when customers drive too fast through the dryer and do not remain under the dryer
for the correct amount of time.
Cleaner looking bay since there is less equipment in the open viewing area.
Less ambient noise compared to a dryer that is either mounted outside or right at the exit doors. The dryer
can be run with the bay doors partially closed to overcome local noise restrictions.
Disadvantages
Increased cycle time because of car exchange.
The Silencer option cannot be mounted on the car wash with the Onboard Dryer option.
General Information
The frame color will match your FreeStyler® carriage.
The plastic spiral blower housings are only offered in a gray color.
The Air Concentrator is optional. If it is ordered it will be mounted to the FreeStyler® before shipment.
Onboard Dryers are offered in various voltages.
Wiring Overview
Note: It is recommended that a licensed electrician is contracted to perform all electrical
installations.
The Onboard Dryer is supplied with two lengths of 10AWG cable at 50’-0” each. Depending on the location of the
Dryer Motor Control Panel, the cables may need to be routed to a separate electrical junction box and then to the
Dryer Motor Control Panel. Each 10 HP motor will have to be wired based on the site location voltage.
