Chapter 22 Initial Startup
Top Wheel Counterweight Setup
1) Set Top Wheel Counterweight
The standard fill Top Wheel has approximately 10 to 13 pounds of penetration. The optional Neo-Tex™ Whisper
Wheel® fill has approximately 18 to 20 pounds of penetration. See the chart below for details on desired weight
adjustments that apply to both Top Wheel fills.

If the weight is too tight to just slide out,
then use a 3/8-16 x 1-3/4” bolt and a
3/8” nut to spread the arms.
C or D
Adds 5 pounds each
A plus B
Adds 6 pounds total

Adds 8 pounds total
Note: Both FreeStyler® Top Wheel styles ship with no weight in location “A” and “B”. See the
image below. This scenario provides the best initial weight adjustment.
Note: As the cleaning material wears, it may be necessary to remove more weights.
Note: Verify that there is grease on the Top Wheel Counterweight Gears.
Note: See the next page for the instruction on checking he chemical outputs and removing the air
from the chemical lines.
