7.5.14 Mounting/removing workpiece pallets
CAUTION
Strong magnetic fi eld!
There is a risk of injury from strong magnetic fi elds in areas that are marked
with this danger symbol.
If workpiece pallets are not mounted on the linear motor system, they have a
strong magnetic fi eld!
- The strong magnetic fi eld of the workpiece pallets may be harmful to
people with cardiac pacemakers and other medical implants.
- The magnetic fi eld of the ActiveMover linear motor system can cause magnetic
materials to move, leading to a risk of projectiles or crushing/shearing.
- Electronic equipment and magnetic media can be infl uenced by the magnetic fi eld.
 Persons with cardiac pacemakers or other medical implants must maintain
a minimum distance of 30 cm from the implant position to the workpiece pallet.
 Persons with cardiac pacemakers or other medical implants are not suitable for
maintenance or service works at the system.
 Keep metal objects at a distance from the workpiece pallets and the
section/curve modules.
 When the workpiece pallets are not assembled, the corresponding protective
plates must be attached. Assembly instructions see page 84.
 Also observe the safety instructions in chapter "General safety instructions for
magnets" on page 33.
Injuries can be caused by the workpiece pallet being released suddenly during
disassembly!
Removing the workpiece pallets requires high force to be exerted despite the
removal tool. If the magnetic holding force is exceeded, the workpiece pallet
loosens abruptly.
 Only use the supplied removal tool.
 Always hold the removal tool with both hands.
 Ensure secure footing to prevent falling backward.
 Be prepared for the sudden loosening of the workpiece pallet.
Danger of crushing during assembly/removal of workpiece pallets!
Additional workpiece pallets near the removal tool constitute a risk of crushing for
hands and fi ngers.
 Remove all workpiece pallets in the area of the removal tool.
Risk of crushing when attaching the protective plate on the magnetic kit of the WT!
Due to the high magnetic forces, the protective plate is suddenly pulled to the
magnetic kit.
 Use appropriate protective equipment (e.g. protective gloves and safety goggles)
 Be prepared for high forces of attraction.
 Place the protective plate with the plastic cover on the magnetic kit!
 Keep body parts away from between the protective plate and the magnetic kit.
