Note. The following description of the controls refers to the enclosed prints.
3.1 CNC CONTROL SYSTEM
CNC Control System : Model Minosse
Machine operation modes are:
(1) (single or continuous) execution mode otherwise called automatic mode
(2) manual execution mode
(3) standby mode
(4) set-up mode otherwise called setting
Mode (1) is the standard operation mode.
Mode (2) it is useful to easily execute some checks and generally for
operator’s convenience.
Mode (3) has to be used when it is necessary to stop temporarily the
machine to compile a new program, update the machine software set-up
(fitted tools and their characteristics table), change a machine parameter or
in general execute operations of data input when the machine is not
working.
Mode (4) it is used for parts loading /unloading, for tools change and to
orient the drill external lubrication jet.
From the point of view of operator’s safety modes have been listed in
accordance to their level of automation and therefore of decreasing danger.
The first three modes are freely actionable when operator is at the control
position outside the dangerous zone. The fourth mode is automatically
forced when crossing the photoelectric barrier (if present) or when acting on
the operation modes key type selector switch.
In addition to the above operation modes, there are three inactive machine
states as follows:
(5) hold state
(6) auxiliaries off state
(7) state of machine standstill after an emergency stop.
The hold state (5) is a pure temporarily transient state. It has not been
designed for operator’s safety purpose, but it is a “service” state, which is
used to go from mode (1) to mode (3).
