4.3.4 Machine SETUP sequence
After the machine operator has received from the Programming and Production
Departments the following main information:
a Type of section to be handled
b Type of program to be used
c Drilling specifications complete with hole diameters and the ideal feed rate speed
d Type of pincher jaws to be used and clamping position in relation to the holes (if any)
to be drilled on the section head.
e For the sawing machine please refer to the attached instruction manual.
At this stage the operator may proceed with the machine setup cycle as follows:
- adjust the pincher arm vertically
- replace the pincher jaws, if necessary
- open the clamp to suit the section size
- position the section head into the clamp
- fit in the tools holder the different ISO 45 tapered adaptor complete with the necessary
tools and check theirs lengths to prevent possible collisions
- make sure that the spindle does not hit the section flanges during the positioning cycle.
- opening of the saw jaw to suit the section size
- check operation of probes.
