4.8 TECHNICAL INFORMATION
In this Part of the Manual we shall describe the different components of the machine and
their operation.
4.8.1 Material in-feed handling system
It consists of a welded frame, carrying the power and measuring racks which enable the
carriage to travel and to clamp the section and by means of the pincher to push the section
towards the working units area.
The carriage rests on ball bearings and runs on the rack. Power and load are transmitted to
the carriage by a servomotor through a pinion by means of a geared motor.
The pick up unit is secured on the carriage external side.
The pincher is positioned at the front of the carriage to clamp and position the section
along the in-feed conveyor.
The pincher assembly is powered and the pincher lifting or lowering stroke is adjustable by
a selector switch to suit the section height.
On the pincher arm there is a pneumatic cylinder which operates the closing and the
opening of the pincher jaws.
The carriage forward and backward travel emergency limit switches are located at the
initial and terminal portion of the carriage supporting structure (X axis).
At the final portion of the carriage supporting structure is provided the X axis zeroing limit
switch.
The in-feed rolls, of the table placed next the machine frame, are fitted with sleeves having
cross positioning facility, thus providing a groove for the flat pincher passage.
For more detailed information regarding the pincher jaws use, refer to the pincher setup.
The loading system is complete with a catches type conveyor.
