Model 1001 DFB Programming and operating manual
FICEP S.p.A. 49
Code
Cycle
Description
TAP
ISO metric tapping
This cycle requires a tool holder suitable for reversal of ro-
tation.
The cycle executes the rapid approach positioning then ad-
vance at the speed set until the end coordinate; here the
spindle reverses the rotation and the tool comes back until
the start coordinate with the same speed.
NOTE: for all tapping operations, the forward speed must
be equal to the thread pitch (see “Tables” – field 09).
ATTENTION: this operation can be performed only if a
through hole is present.
The sensitive cycle for tool length pick-up cannot be used.

MILL
Milling
First, it is necessary to execute a through hole (DRILL)
The tool goes down into the material until the coordinate of
first pass at the maximum speed. Then the tool starts the
programmed contouring movements.
It is necessary to pay the utmost attention to avoid colli-
sions.
The sensitive cycle for tool length pick-up cannot be used.
POCKET
Pocketing
The tool approaches the material surface at front cutting
speed (this value is a percentage of contouring speed);
when the tool reaches the coordinate of first pass the con-
touring movement starts. If required the CNC repeats the
cycle to get the programmed depth.
The sensitive cycle for tool length pick-up cannot be used.
