5.7 Mute
Description
During a conversation, activating Mute will disable the handset microphone or the
speakerphone for privacy while continuing to listen to the other party on the phone through the
handset or speaker. The DKT will remain muted until the call is terminated or Mute is
deactivated.
Operation
To mute the transmission audio while on a call,
1. Press the [MUTE] softkey.
2. The DKT is muted and the [MUTE] softkey changes to [SPEAK]. The connected
party will not be able to hear audio from the muted station.
To restore transmission,
1. Press the [SPEAK] softkey.
2. Mute is terminated and the connected party can hear the station user.
Consideration
When changing from the speakerphone to the handset, mute is released.
When pressing another DSS button, the mute state will not be changed.
A Flexible button can be assigned to activate/deactivate Mute.
