VP - 3.1 Platen Pre Check
Purpose:
Perform this procedure to ensure all hardware is secure, keyboard settin
g
s are correct,
and needle is home before performin
g
Platen Checks / Adjustments.
1. Remove covers.
2. Put Sample Loader in Manual Mode.
a. Press and Hold
MAN
and
START
.
b. Turn Power
ON
, hold keys down until BEEPING stops.
3. Set
BAR (0/1) Switch
to
1
.
4. Set PRE rotary switch (if used) to 0 (painted dot faces 0).
5. Press (
↑ N
) to ensure Needle is Home (X and Y axis will not move when Needle is not home).
6. Ti

hten all Platen, Pusher Arm, Sensor, and Laser Shield hardware (Fi

ure 3-5).
7. Ensure Tower is secure and strai
g
ht (side to side and front to back). If Tower cannot be
strai
g
htened, call Tech Support.
8. Go to “VP - 3.2 Platen Wall Check” (Pa
g
e 3-20).
