Purpose:
Perform this procedure to ali

n the Platen (front to back) with the Tower.
1. Perform Check procedure “VP - 3.12 Platen to Laser Shield Check” (Pa
g
e 3-47).
2. Loosen (4) Guide Rod Bracket Bolts (5mm Allen) (Fi
g
ure 3-22).
3. If Bracket Bolts can be loosened,

o to
Step 5
. If not, continue with
Step 4
.
4. If bracket bolts cannot be loosened, perform the followin
g
:
a. Loosen (4) Platen mountin
g
screws and Adjust Platen sli
g
htly until Laser Shield is recessed
.050 - .060in. (1.25 - 1.5mm) from Platen Wall.
b. “VP - 3.8 Rack to Laser Shield Check” (Pa
g
e 3-39).
c. “VP - 3.10 X-Axis Solenoids to Platen Channel Check” (Pa
g
e 3-43).
d. “VP - 3.14 Pusher Arm to Platen Check” (Pa
g
e 3-51)
5. If bracket bolts can be loosened, adjust entire Platen and Guide Rod Assembly until check
(Fi
g
ure 3-21) is correct.
6. Perform “VP - 3.8 Rack to Laser Shield Check” (Pa
g
e 3-39) and continue with
