Chapter 10 Booster Pump Assembly Option
Booster Pump
Installation
Note: Once the electrical wires are connected properly you will be ready to run the system.
10) Turn on the main water and the main electrical.
11) Make sure that there are no water leaks and that all fasteners are tightened down
completely.
Initial Startup Procedure
1) Close all 3 of the ball valves (feed, return, and bypass). See the image below.
2) Remove priming plug which is located on the top of the pump.
3) Open the feed ball valve slowly until water begins to come out of the priming port. Replace
the priming plug once this is complete. See the image below.
4) Open the return valve and the feed valve completely. Keep the bypass valve closed. See
the image below.
5) Turn on the electrical, 110VAC to the pump.
6) Run a wash cycle and verify that there is proper operation.
7) Speed up the wash passes within the wash cycle until enough water is used to rinse your
best triple foam package.
8) Verify that the outlet pressure does not exceed 100 psi. If it does, add a regulator to the
inlet side of the pump to maintain 100 psi out. The chemical pumps are designed to pump
into a 100 psi maximum line pressure. See the image below.
9) If desired, a 110VAC relay can be added and the Booster Pump can be controlled by the
“city water output” to only turn on and off when necessary.
