Adjustable Quantize Window per Module
Previously,allModulesthathadtheQuantizeTrigger
settingturnedOnwouldbequantizedtothenearest
16thnote.WhilethisallowedintricateDJ‐style
performances,itcouldalsomakeitdifficulttotrigger
Modulesinperfecttimeduringnormalperformance,
especiallyatfastertempos.Now,youcanselecta
Quantize
WindowindependentlyforeachModule–for
example,usea1/4‐noteor8th‐notevalueforless
chanceofatimingerror,ora16th‐notewhenfancier
retriggeringeffectsaredesired.Triplet‐basedvalues
arealsoprovidedforretriggeringtriplet‐basedgrooves
“off‐beat.”
Evenmorepowerfully,theQuantizeWindowis
alsoa
destinationinthePerfRTPpage,sothatyoucan
changeitinreal‐timefromtheControlSurface.For
example,youcouldchangeitduringliveperformance
toallowquickretriggeringinabreakdownsection,
thensetitbacktoaquarternoteformorerelaxed
triggering
duringtherestofthesong.

side‐stick/ridenotemapsforuseas
adrumkit,and
theneditthekicktobemappedtoadifferentnote.

Improved timing when changing scenes
Previously,theremighthavesometimesbeenaslight
hesitationwhenchangingscenes,especiallyinCombis,
dependingontheCombinationandthemomentat
whichthescenewaschanged.Thishasbeengreatly
improvedinKARMA2.1.
Load and un-load EXs without restarting
YoucannowchangetheEXsconfigurationwithout
restartingtheOASYS.SimplyselectthedesiredEXsas
before,usingtheExpansionSampleSetupmenu
commandontheGlobalmodeBasicpage.Whenyou
exitthedialogbox,theEXswillbeloadedand/orun‐
loadedautomatically.Notethatloadingalarge
EXs
maytakesometime.
Lossless compression of EXs1 and 2
EXs1and2arenowloadedintoRAMusinganew,
losslesscompressiontechnique.Thisyieldsamodest
reductioninsize:EXs1nowuses284MBinsteadof
313MB,andEXs2uses464MBinsteadof503MB.With
2GBinstalledandbothEXsloaded,thisincreasesthe
availableusersamplingRAMbyabout
68MB.
You’llnoticethatthisismuchmilderthanthedramatic
sizereductionsofmp3,orthePCMcompression
sometimesfoundinothersynthesizers.Thereisa
strongadvantageovertheseothermethods,however:
theOASYScompressioniscompletelylossless,and
causesabsolutelynodegradationinaudioquality.
Other improvements
YoucannowtransposeEXi1and2independently,
usingparametersontheEXiCommonpage.
AllStepSequencersnowincludediscretesmoothing
controlsforattackanddecay,allowingmorecontrol
andthecreationofsimpleenvelopeshapes.This
includestheEXiCommonStepSequencerandtheper‐
voiceStep
SequencersintheAL‐1andMOD‐7.
InSequencermode,aplaybuttonhasbeenaddedto
MIDIEventEdit,allowingyoutoheartheresultsof
editswhilekeepingthedialogboxopen.
