Merging two or more pads together
Youcanmergetheassignmentsfromtwoormorepads
together,aslongasthetotalnumberofnotesis8or
fewer.Todoso:
1. Pressallofthepadsthatyou’dliketomerge,and
thenreleasethem.
Allofthepadsmustbehelddownatthesametime.
2. PresstheCHORDASSIGNbutton.
3. Pressthepadtowhichyou’dliketocopythe
notes.
Youcanevenuseoneofthepadsthatwasbeing
merged,ifyoulike.Afterpressingthedestinationpad,
you’ redone.
Fixed Velocity vs. Velocity Sensitive
Eachpadstoresavelocitylevelforeachofits8notes.
ThePADMODEbutton,totherightofthepads,
controlswhetherornotthepadsrespondtohowhard
youplay.
InFixedVelocitymode,thepadsalwaysusetheir
storedvelocitysettings,regardlessofhowhardyou
play.
InVelocitySensitivemode,hittingthepadvery
stronglyproducesthepresetvelocities.Whenyouplay
moresoftly,thepresetvelocitiesarescaleddown
accordingly,maintainingthebalancebetweenthenotes
inthechord.
Using Chord mode
Overview
Chordmodeletsyouchooseoneofthechords
assignedtothePads,andthenplayitfromthe
keyboard.Thechordistransposedaccordingtothe
notethatyouplay;theplayednotespecifiesthelowest
noteofthechord,andthehighernotesaretransposed
tomatch.Aswhen
playingchordsfromthePads
themselves,eachnoteinthechordcanhaveadifferent
storedvelocity,scaledbytheplayednote.
Inadditiontousingtheon‐screenparameters,youcan
turnChordmodeonandoffviaSW1/2ortheFoot
Switch,andchangechordssimplybypressingthe
Pads.InCombinationandSequencermodes,youcan
makethesesettingsforeachTimbreorTrack,as
desired.Naturally,youcancontrolallofthisviaMIDI
aswell.
Chordmodecanduplicatethewaythatsimilar
featuresworkedonclassicanalogsynths(suchasthe
originalPolysix),butitcan
alsousealloftheVoice
Assignoptionstocreatedifferenteffects–suchasmono
legatochordswithfingeredportamento,orpoly
chordsthatoverlaponeanother.
Finally,notethatyoudon’thavetouseChordmodeto
playfullchords;youcanalsouseittocreatemore
subtleeffects,
suchasstackedoctavesorfifths.Youcan
evenadjusttherelativelevelsoftheseadditional
pitchesviathestoredvelocitiesoftheindividualchord
notes.
Chord Switch
TheChordSwitch(abbreviatedChordSW)letsyou
turnChordmodeonandoffviaSW1/2ortheFoot
Switch.
Important:ProgramswillonlyrespondtotheChord
SWiftheirChordparameterhasbeensettoeither
BasicorAdvanced.Ifit’ssettoOff,thentheswitch
will
havenoeffect.

canseteitherSW1orSW2toturnChordmodeonand

Assigning the Foot Switch to control Chord on/off
YoucanalsoassigntheFootSwitchtoturnChord

Program,Combi,orSong.Todoso:

Enabling Chord mode
Program mode
ToenableChordmodeforaProgram:
1. GototheProgramBasicpage
2. SettheChordparametertoBasicorAdvanced.
Onceyou’veselectedeitherBasicorAdvanced,Chord
modeisenabledimmediately.Optionally,youcanthen
turnChordmodeoffandonviatheChordSW,using
eitherSW1/2or
theAssignableFootSwitch.
IfyousetChordtoOff,thenitwillalwaysremainoff,
regardlessoftheChordSW.Thisisparticularlyuseful
inCombiandSequencermodes,sinceitallowsyouto
createsplitsandlayersinwhichsomeTimbres/Tracks
useChordmode,butothersdonot.
Combination and Sequencer modes
ToenableChordmodeforaTimbreinaCombi,ora
trackinaSong:
