Synchronization with a wave sequence
IfyouwantaKARMAmoduletosynchronizewitha
currently‐playingwavesequence(“Mode”=Tempo),
turn“QuantizeTrigger ”on(checked)sothatitwill
synchronizetosixteenth‐noteintervalsofthetiming.
The “Quantize Trigger” parameter
ThetriggertimingofaKARMAmodulewilldepend
onthesettingofits“QuantizeTrigger ”parameter.
On(checked):ThetriggertimingofaKARMAmodule
willbequantizedtoasixteenth‐noteintervalofthe
basetempo.
Off(unchecked):TheKARMAmodulewillbe
triggeredatthetimingatwhich
youplaythekeyboard.

Synchronization between KARMA
modules A, B, C, and D
InCombinationandSequencermodes,fourKARMA
modulescanberunning.Eachmodulehasa“Quantize
Trigger”settingthatdetermineshowthatmodulewill
synchronizewiththeothermodules.
“QuantizeTrigger”Off:TheKARMAmodulewillbe
triggeredatthetimingatwhichyouplaythekeyboard.
Therewillbeno
synchronizationbetweenKARMA
modules;eachwillbetriggeredattheirowntiming.
“QuantizeTrigger”On:TheKARMAmodulewill
synchronizetosixteenth‐noteintervalsofthetiming
thefirst‐triggeredKARMAmodulethatiscurrently
running.
Ifyouwanttosimultaneouslytriggermultiple
KARMAmodulesfromthekeyboardorpads,turn
“Quantize
Trigger ”onforeachoftheseKARMA
modules.
Synchronization with songs, patterns, and
RPPR performance in Sequencer mode
IfyouwantaKARMAmoduletoplay(orberecorded)
insynchronizationwiththecurrently‐playingsong,
pattern,orRPPR,turn“QuantizeTrigger ”on.
“QuantizeTrig”Off:TheKARMAmodulewillbe
triggeredatthetimingatwhichyouplaythekeyboard.
Itwillnotsynchronizetothecurrently‐playing
song,
pattern,orRPPR.
“QuantizeTrig”On:Thetriggertimingofthe
KARMAmodulewillbequantizedtoasixteenth‐note
intervalofthecurrently‐playingsong,pattern,or
RPPR.
Note:IfyouwantpatternsplayedbyRPPRto
synchronizetothecurrently‐operatingKARMA

Synchronization with song start/stop
Synchronization with a song in Sequencer
mode
•WhiletheKARMAfunctionisrunning,pressing
theSTART/STOPswitchwillsynchronizethe
KARMAfunctionwiththesequencer.
TheKARMAfunctionwillbereset,andthephrases
orpatternsitgenerateswillstartfromthe
beginning.
•WhilethesequencerisplayingandtheKARMA
functionisstopped,andyouchangethelocation
by
pressingtheLOCATEswitchetc.,theKARMA
functionwillbereset,andthephrasesorpatternsit
generateswillstartfromthebeginning.
•IfyouthenpresstheSTART/STOPswitch,the
sequencerandtheKARMAfunctionwillbothstop.
IfyouwanttostoponlytheKARMAfunction,
pressthe
(KARMA)ON/OFFswitch.
•IfyouwanttheKARMAfunctiontostartthe
momentrecordingbegins,pressthe(KARMA)
ON/OFFswitch,andthenplaythekeyboardduring
thepre‐countbeforerecording.TheKARMA
moduleswillnotbetriggeredimmediately,butwill
betriggeredinsynchronizationwiththesequencer
themomentrecording
starts.
Slave operation
ConnecttheMIDIOUTofyourexternalMIDIdevice
totheOASYS’MIDIIN.
Set“MIDIClock”(Global1–1a:MIDISetup)to
ExternalMIDI.TheOASYSwillsynchronizetoMIDI
realtimeclockandrealtimecommandmessagesit
receivesfromtheconnectedMIDIdevice.
Note:IftheOASYSissettoMIDIClock=
Auto,itwill
alsosynchronizetotheexternalMIDIdeviceinthe
samewayifMIDIrealtimeclockmessagesarebeing
receivedfromtheexternaldevice.
Synchronization to MIDI clock
TheKARMAfunctionwillsynchronizetoatempo
basedontheexternalMIDIclocktiming.
