Settings for the entire OASYS (Global mode)
How Global mode is structured
InGlobalmodeyoucanmakeoverallsettingsthat
applytotheentireOASYS,suchasmastertune,key
transpose,effectglobalswitch,globalMIDIchannel,
andsystemclock.
Inaddition,youcancreateuserdrumkits,wave
sequence,andscales,makesettingsforthedamper
pedalandassignablefootswitches/pedals,
andspecify
categorynamesforprogramsandcombinations.
TheeditsyouperforminGlobalmodewillbe
preserveduntilthepoweristurnedoff,butwillnot
bepreservedafterthepoweristurnedoffunless
youfirstsaveyoursettings.Threetypesofdataare
handledinGlobalmode:wave
sequencesettings
(GlobalP4),userdrumkitsettings(GlobalP5),and
allotherglobalsettings(GlobalP0–P3).Eachof
thesecanbewrittenintotheirrespectivememory
area.Thisdatacanalsobesavedtovarioustypesof
mediainDiskmode.

P0: Basic Setup
Tuning to another instrument/Transposing
“MasterTune”adjuststheoverallpitch.Editthis
settingwhenyouareplayingtheOASYSwithother
instruments,orwhenplayingalongwithmusiconCD
ortape.Youcanadjustthepitchinarangeof±50cents
(onesemitone=100cents).Ifthisisat0,middleA
is
tunedto440Hz.
KeyTransposeshiftsthepitchinsemitonesteps.Edit
thissettingwhenyouwanttotransposethesoundof
theentireOASYS.Youcanadjustthetranspositionina
rangeof±1octave.
Adjusting the way in which velocity or
after touch will affect the volume or tone
Youcanadjustthewayinwhichchangesinvelocityor
aftertouchwillaffectthevolumeortone.Thisletsyou
(forexample)makethevolumeofthenotesmore
consistent,evenwhentheyareplayedwithvarying
dynamics.
Eachcurvehasitsowncharacter,soyoucanselectthe
curvethatisappropriateforyourownplaying
dynamics,playingstyle,andtheeffectthatyouwishto
obtain.
VelocityCurveselectsthevelocitycurve,andAfter
TouchCurveselectstheaftertouchcurve.
Bypassing the effects
Inserteffects,mastereffects,andtotaleffectscanbe
bypassedglobally.ThisappliestotheentireOASYS
regardlessofthemode.Forexample,ifyou’ve
connectedtheOASYS’soutputstoanexternalmixer
andareusinganexternaleffectprocessortoapply
reverborchorustothesound,youcanturn
offthe
OASYS’smastereffectsandtotaleffects.
IftheEffectGlobalSW“IFX1–12Off,”“MFX1&2Off,”
and“TFX1&2Off”itemsarechecked,the inserteffects,
mastereffect,willrespectivelybebypassed.
