TheLegacyAnalogcollectionforOASYSfeatures
enhancedversionsoftwoclassicKorganalogsynths,
usingKorg’sproprietaryCMT(ComponentModeling
Technology):theMS‐20EXandPolysixEX.
Muchmorethansimplere‐creationsoftheiracclaimed
vintagepredecessors,however,theseEXitaketheir
conceptstothenextlevel–withmanynewfeatures
uniquetotheOASYS.

MS-20EX
TheMS‐20EXisaflexible,semi‐modularvirtualanalog
synthesizer.Atitsheartisafaithfulre‐creationofthe
originalKorgMS‐20,includingbothitsmanyfeatures
anditsdistinctive,oftenaggressivetimbralsignature.
Tothiscore,weaddedallofthefeaturesfirst
introducedintheKorg
LegacyMS‐20plug‐in,suchas
theExternalModulationroutings,tempo
synchronization,andtheAnalogknob,formodeling
theinherentinstabilitiesofanalogoscillatorsand
filters.
Then,wemadesignificant,OASYS‐onlymodifications
tothePatchPanel,inspiredbytheMS‐20’sbigbrother,
theMS‐50.Theseenablediscrete
accesstoallmajor
components,includingbothVCOs,theHPF,LPF,
VCA,andtheESP’sBandPassFilter,formore
powerfulpatchingcapabilities.
ThePatchPanelitselfisalsomoreflexible,withtwo
newmixersformergingandscalingsignals,and
unlimited“mults,”sothateachoutputcanbe
connected
tomultipleinputs.LiketheoriginalMS‐20,
youcanalsousealiveaudioinputasbothanaudio
andcontrolsource.
Finally,weaddedAMSmodulationforalloriginalMS‐

ThePolysixEXisarich‐sounding,easy‐to‐usevirtual
analogsynth.Italsofeaturesveryhighpolyphony–up
to172voices,withroomforeffects!
WhendesigningthePolysixEX,westartedwitha
faithfulreproductionofthefeaturesandsonic
characteroftheclassicKorgPolysix.Theseincludea
VCOand
sub‐oscillator,pulse‐widthmodulationwith
adedicatedLFO,afour‐pole,self‐oscillatingresonant
lowpassfilter,anADSRenvelope,aModulation
Generator(akaLFO),anintegratedarpeggiator,and

What is CMT?
Korg’sCMT(ComponentModelingTechnology)
createsvirtualinstrumentsthatareindistinguishable
fromtheoriginal.CMTtakesanorganicapproachto
modeling,reproducingnotonlythesoundbutalsothe
characterandresponsecurveofeachparameter,so
thattheresultsarecompletelyfaithfultotheoriginal
model.
CMT’scloningofthe
entireinstrument,basedonan
intimateknowledgeoftheoriginalanalogcircuits,
ensuresthateverynuanceisreplicated–deliveringall
thepowerandsubtletythatupuntilnowonlytrue
analogsynthesiscouldprovide.
