Open Architecture Synthesis Studio
TheOASYSfeaturestheOA(OpenArchitecture)
synthesissystem,whichoffersallthebenefitsofa
variablesoftwaresystembackedbythehardware
integritythatcanonlycomefromafully‐integrated
instrumentdesign.
Currently,theOASYSincludessophisticatedPCM
sampleplaybackincludingWaveSequencingand
VectorSynthesis(theHD‐1
HighDefinition
Synthesizer),analogmodeling(theAL‐1Analog
ModelingSynthesizer),tonewheelorganmodeling
(CX‐3TonewheelOrgan),andphysicalmodeling(the
STR‐1PluckedString).
TheoptionalLAC‐1LegacyAnalogCollectionadds
twoCMTModeledAnalogSynthesizers,theMS‐20EX
andPolysixEX,forawealthofadditionaltimbral
capabilities.
The
OASYS‘sOpenArchitectureisdesignedtoenable
futureoptionstofurtherexpandtheinstrument’s
capabilities,includingadditionalEXiexpansion
instruments,EXsexpansionsamples,andEXf
expansioneffects.
TheOA(OpenArchitecture)synthesissystemtogether
withKARMA,asixteentrackMIDIsequencerand
sixteentrackharddiskrecorder,asampler,
control
surface,andakeyboardwithgreatresponsearealltied
togetherbyahigh‐speedprocessorintoanorganic
wholeastheOASYS(OpenArchitectureSynthesis
Studio),theperfectinstrumenttofuelyourmusical
creativity.

Definition Synthesizer
High-capacity PCM sounds, newly designed
oscillator
TheHD‐1HighDefinitionsynthesizer,whichisthe
PCMsynthesisengineoftheOASYS,usesanewly
designedoscillator.
ThePCMwaveformsare16‐bit48kHz,usingeitherno
datacompressionorlosslesscompressioninorderto
maintainfullfidelity.Theyincludeatotalofmorethan
1Gigabyte
ofmeticulously‐recordedstereosamples
andlongsamples.
Eachvoicehasoscillators(twooscillatorsallowing
four‐stagevelocityswitching/crossfading/layering)
thatcanuseuptoeight(stereo)multisamples,upto
fourfilters(twofilterseachwithfourmodesandfour
routings),twoamps,fiveLFOs,andfiveEGs,all
availablesimultaneously.
Eachvoice
(oscillator,filter,amp,etc.)providesa
generousarrayofmodulationfunctionsand
parameters,lettingyouconstructintricateandrich
sounds.
TheEXs2ConcertGrandPianoextendedPCMlibrary
consistsofalavish503MBoflongstereosamples,
capturedforeachkeyatfourlevelsofdynamics.In
addition,theNote
