Note:Youcan’tusetheVOLUMEslidertoadjustthe

rateof48kHzor96kHzcanbeinputtotheOASYS’L
andRchannels,andrecordedorsampledtothehard
diskorroutedthroughtheinternaleffectsand
sentto
theOUTPUTjacks.
1. Useanopticalcabletoconnecttheopticaldigital
outputofyourDATorotherdevicetotheS/P DIF
INjackoftheOASYS.
2. Afterturningthepoweron,setthe“S/P DIF
SampleRate”(GlobalP0:GlobalSetup–Basic
Setuppage).Incomingdataata96
kHzsampling
ratewillbeconvertedfor48kHzforrecording.
3. SetSystemClock(GlobalP0:GlobalSetup–Basic
Setuppage)toS/P DIF.
4. Afterturningonthepower,usetheAudioInput
pagetosetupthevolume,pan,busrouting,and
sendlevelsfortheinputs,asdesired.

5. Connecting Foot Pedals and Switches
Connecting a damper pedal
Thedamperpedalisalsosometimescalledthesustain
pedal.Itactslikethesimilarlynamedpedalonan
acousticpiano;whenyouholddownthepedal,notes
willcontinuetosustainev enwhenyouliftyourhands
offofthekeyboard.
1. ConnectanoptionalDS1Hdamperpedaltothe
DAMPERjack.Ifyou’veconnectedaDS1H,
you’llbeabletoobtainhalfdampereffects.
Afterturningthepoweron:

usetheDamperPolarityparametertosetthe
damperpolarity.
3. GototheGlobalP0page,andusetheHalf
DamperCalibrationmenu
commandtoadjustthe
sensitivityifdesired.

Connecting a foot switch
Youcanuseaconnectedfootswitchtoperform
functionssuchascontrollingsostenuto,softpedal
on/off,KARMAfunctionon/off,selectingprogramsor
combinations,starting/stoppingthesequencer,and
controllingtaptempo.
1. ConnectafootswitchsuchastheoptionalPS1to
theASSIGNABLESWITCHjack.
2. Afterturningthepoweron,use
GlobalP2:“Foot
SwitchAssign”and“FootSwitchPolarity”to
assignthefunctioncontrolledbythefootswitch
andtospecifythepolarity.

thefootpedal.

6. Connecting USB devices
OASYSsupportshighspeedUSB2.0forconnectingto
storagedevices,suchasharddrives,flashmedia,and
CDR/RWdrives.Youcansaveandloadsamples,
sounds,sequences,andotherdatatoandfromUSB2.0
devices,forbackup,transferringtocomputers,etc.
NotethatHDRtracksmustbeplayed
fromand
recordedontotheinternalharddrive.Youcanback
themuptoUSBdevices,however.
Themaximumsupportedcapacitydependsuponthe
formatoftheUSBdevice.WithFAT16format,the
maximumcapacityis4GB;withFAT32,themaximum
is2Terabytes(2,000GB).
1. UseaUSBcableto
connectyourexternalUSB
devicetooneoftheOASYS’sUSBports.
StandardUSBcableshaveadifferentconnectorateach
end.Plugtheflat,rectangularconnectorintothe
OASYS,andplugthesquareishconnectorintothe
externalUSBstoragedevice.
Note:Ifthedeviceyouareusingdoesnot
supporthot
plugging,makeconnectionswiththedevicepowered
off,andthenturnonthepowerofyourdevice.
