Using the Lock function
Locking the Joystick
1. Usingthestandardfactorysounds,selectProgram
INT‐A016:RealSuitE.Piano,andplaythe
keyboard.
Toselectaprogram,makesurethatyouarein
Programmode,andpresstheBANKINTAbutton,
numerickey1,6,andthentheENTERkey.
2. Movethejoystickawayfromyourself(the+Y
direction).
Thevibratoeffectwilldeepen.
3. Whileholdingthejoystickawayfromyourself,
presstheSW2switch.
Whenyoupresstheswitch,itsLEDwilllightup,
andthemodulationeffectatthispointwillbe
maintained.
4. Releasethejoystick,andplaythekeyboard.
Themodulationwillstaythesameasitwaswhen
SW2waspressed.Movingthejoystickawayfrom
yourselfwillnotaffectthesound.
5. PresstheSW2keyonceagaintoreleasetheLock
function.

programisselected.
1. PresstheSW2key.
TheLEDonSW2willlightup.
2. Touchtheribboncontroller,andmoveyourfinger
leftandright.
Movementinthe+Xdirectionwillbrightenthetone,
andmovementinthe–Xdirectionwilldarkenthe
tone.
3. Liftyourfingerupfromtheribboncontroller.
Thesoundwillremainasitwaswhenyoulast
touchedtheribbon.
4. PresstheSW2keyonceagaintoreleasetheLock
function.
5. PressthetablabeledCntrl/ViewEffect,togotothe
Controller/ViewEffectpage.
Intheupperright‐handportionofthe
screen,notice
thatSW2isassignedtoJSY&RibbonLock,andisset
toToggle.ThismeansthatSW2isassignedtocontrol
theLockfunctionforboththejoystick’sYaxisandthe
ribboncontroller.ManyProgramsandCombinations
usethisassignment.
Youcanalsolockboth
theribbonandthejoystickat
thesametime:
1. Movethejoystickinthe+Ydirection
2. PresstheSW2keytoturnontheLockfunction.
3. Moveyourfingerontheribboncontroller.
4. Releasethejoystick,andliftyourfingerupfrom
theribbon.
Theeffectsofboththeribbonandthejoystick
willbe
maintaineduntilyoupressSW2againtoreleasethe
lock.
Lockcanalsobeappliedtoaftertouch,byassigning
SW1orSW2toAfterTouchLock.

YoucanswitchtheControlSurfacebetweenits
differentfunctionsusingeithertheon‐screentabson
theControlSurfacepage,orthefront‐panelControl
Assignswitches.Thetabsandthefront‐panelswitches
mirroroneanother;whenyouchangeoneofthem,the
otherchangesaswell.
