17.15.7 Example: Sampling Eight Inputs Using Sequential Sampling
Figure 17-20 and Table 17-8 demonstrate sequential sampling. When converting more than one
channel and selecting sequential sampling, the module will start sampling a channel at the
earliest opportunity, then perform the required conversions in sequence. In this example, with
ASAM set, sampling of a channel will begin after the conversion of that channel completes.
When ASAM is clear, sampling will not resume after conversion completion but will occur when
setting the SAMP bit.
When utilizing more than one channel, sequential sampling provides more sampling time since
a channel may be sampled while conversion occurs on another.
