11.2.3 Setting COM Port
To set the COM 1 port for RS-232C communication, select “ENVIRONMENT” > “Serial Communication” >
“RS232C” from the menu bar. Specify the setting values for the COM 1 port should be the same as that for the
external device.
Item Selections Descriptions
Baud Rate
(bps)
1200/ 2400/ 4800/ 9600/ 19200/ 38400/
57600/ 115200 (Initial value: 9600)
Transmission speed for communication. The
higher number the faster communication speed.
Bit Length 7 / 8 (Initial value: 8) Sets the number of bits of each word
Stop Bit 1 / 2 (Initial Value: 1) Sets the bit number of the signals that recognizes
the end of data
Parity None/Odd/Even (Initial value: Odd) Sets the number of overhead bits to check for
proper data transmission.
Flow Control None/Software (Initial value: None) Sets how to control the handshake flow
11.2.4 Output Data
Output Data from PV310 during Inspection
When inspection is carried out, the following signal is output from the serial port (COM1 only). Only the data of the
items that has been set to output under the “General Output” tab (by selecting “ENVIRONMENT” > “Data Output
Settings” from the menu bar) is output in the following order:
Input / Output Output Order
1. Number of scans
2. Judgment results (up to 96 data)
3. Numeric Calculation data (up to 96 data)
Output:
Output data from
PV310 during
inspection
4. Statistics data (up to 96 data)
Output Settings
In the following cases, the data of each of Scans, Judgment Results, Numeric Calculation, and Statistics are not
output to the serial port (unset registers are skipped.)
• Each data is set to “Out” under the “General Output” tab, but the setting data do not exist.
• The setting data exist, but each data is set to “None” under the “General Output” tab.
Number of Output Digits
For number of Scans, Numeric Calculations and Statistics, specify the number of output digits within the range
from 1 to 11. (Judgment results are always output regardless of the number of output digits.) If number of output
digits exceeds the specified number of output digits, the “0” data will be output.
