Access the System Setup Screen Usethefollowingstepstoaccessthe
SystemSetupscreenwhenyouwanttoenableanewoptionorchangea
configurationsetting.
1. Logintothelibraryasauserwithsuperuseroradministratorprivileges
(seeLogIntotheUserInterfaceonpage93).
2. Fromthetoolbarmenu,selectConfiguration > System.TheSystem

ENABLING BLUESCALE SOFTWARE SUPPORT, OPTIONS, AND

Overview ActivationkeysarerequiredtoenabletheBlueScaleSoftware
Supportlicenseandanylibraryoptionsandupgradesyoupurchase.These
activationkeysaretiedtothelibraryserialnumber(thehardwareID).The
libraryshipswithactivationkeysfortheinitialBlueScaleSoftwareSupport
license,theinitiallicensedslotcapacity,andanyadditionaloptionsyou
purchasedwiththelibrary.Youmustentertheactivationkeyforthe
BlueScaleSoftwareSupportlicenseandeachoptionintothelibraryto
maketheoptionavailableforuse.
Requirements for updating the library BlueScale software Avalid
BlueScaleSoftwareSupportkeyisrequiredinordertoupdatethelibrary’s
BlueScalesoftwareandcomponentfirmware.Whenyoureneworextend
yourservicecontract,youreceiveanactivationkeythatmustbeentered
intotheSystemConfigurationscreentoenablecontinuedBlueScale
updates.
Your initial library purchase includes a BlueScale Software Support key that is valid
for the duration of the warranty period, or for the duration of any uplifted or
extended service contract you purchased with the library, whichever is longer.
When you renew or extend your service contract, you must generate a new
BlueScale Software Support key and enter the new key into the library to allow
continued access to BlueScale upgrades (see
Obtain the Option Activation Key on
page 110). If you have questions about your service agreement, contact Spectra
