IMPORT AND EXPORT OVERVIEW
Importingcartridgesintothelibraryandexportingcartridgesfromthe
libraryaretheprimaryinteractionsyouhavewiththephysicallibrary.You
importmagazinesfilledwithcartridgesintothelibraryduringyourinitial
setup,andbothimportandexportcartridgesduringnormalday‐to‐day
backupoperations.
Themethodyouusetoimportorexportcartridgesdependsonthelibrary
configurationandthenumberofmagazinesyouneedtomove.
Center TAP Forday‐to‐dayoperationsinvolvingasmallnumberof
magazines,youcanimportorexportmagazinesoneatatimeusingthe
centerTAPlocatedinthemainframe.ThetwoTAPdoorsopenalternately.
Bulk TAP Whenyouneedtoimportorexportalargenumberof
magazines,youcanuseabulkTAPtopro cessupto14magazinesata
time.
Do not put data cartridges in a Maintenance TeraPack magazine. The Maintenance
TeraPack magazine, with properly labeled cleaning cartridges, can only be used in a
cleaning partition.
