USING A USB DEVICE
YoucanplugaUSBdeviceintotheUSBportonthelibrary’soperatorpanel
(T950Bonly)orintoaUSBportontheLCMfortransferringinformation
suchasbackinguporrestoringthelibraryconfiguration,backingupor
restoringtheMLMandDLMdatabases,importingorexportingBlueScale
encryptionkeys,gatheringlogfiles,ortouploadBlueScalesoftware
updatestothelibrary.
OneSpectraLogicUSBdeviceisshippedwiththelibrary,butmosttypes
ofUSBdeviceswork.
Continuing Backups While Using a USB Device
WhenusingaUSBdevice,keepthefollowingrequirementsinmind:
After connecting a USB device, allow time for the device to mount before
continuing.
Do not leave a USB device plugged into the library control module indefinitely,
unless specifically directed to do so by Spectra Logic Technical Support.
The library only recognizes FAT-formatted, not NTFS-formatted, USB devices.
If you are unable to access a USB device from the library, remove it and use a
different one.
