Connect a USB Device to the Library
Notes: WhenconnectingtheUSBdevicetotheLCM,makesurethat
youdonotinadvertentlyconnectittotheRCM.SeeFigure17
onpage45toidentifytheLCM.
ThelibraryonlyrecognizesFAT‐formatted,notNTFS‐
formatted,USBdevices.
NotallUSBdevicesarecompatiblewiththelibrary.Ifyou
areunabletoaccessaUSBdevicefromthelibrary,removeit
anduseadifferentone.IftheLCMstopsrespondingafter
youinsertanincompatibleUSBdevice,reboottheLCMas
describedinResettheLCMorRCMonpage369.
PlugtheUSBdeviceintotheLCMbeforebeginninga
procedurethatreadsorwritesdatatoallowtimefordevice
recognition.Formanyutilities,theoptiontoreadfromor
writedatatoaUSBdeviceisnotavailableifaUSBdevice
wasnotpluggedintotheLCMandallowedenoughtimeto
mountbeforeyouselecttheutility.
UsethefollowingstepstoconnectaUSBdevicetothelibrary.
1. LocatetheUSBportyouwanttouseontheT950BoperatorpanelorLCM.
2. PlugtheUSBdeviceintotheUSBportandallowtimeforthedeviceto
mount.
Unless specifically instructed to do so, do not connect a USB device to the USB port
on the RCM.
