YoumusthaveacurrentsupportagreementandcorrespondingBlueScale
SoftwareSupportkeyenteredinthelibrarybeforeyoucanupdatethe
library’sBlueScalesoftwareandthecomponentfirmware.Youareableto
downloadupdatedBlueScalepackagesfromtheTechnicalSupportportal
withoutakey;however,withoutavalidBlueScaleSoftwareSupportkey
installedonthelibrary,youarenotabletoapplytheupdatestothelibrary.
Notes: SpectraLogicsendsyouanemailnotificationbeforeyour
currentsupportkeyexpires.
Thelibraryalsogeneratesinformationalmessagestoletyou
knowthatthesupportkeyisabouttoexpire.
IfyourBlueScaleSoftwareSupportkeyexpires,youseethefollowing
screenwhenyouattempttoupdatethelibrary.
YoumustrenewtheBlueScaleSoftwareSupportkeybeforeyoucan
continue.Youmusthaveacurrentservicecontracttogenerateanew
BlueScaleSoftwareSupportkey,ifyoudonothaveacurrentservice
contract,contactSpectraLogicTechnicalSupport(seeContactingSpectra
Logiconpage7).
Ifyourlibraryiscoveredbywarrantyoraservicecontract,andyouneeda
BlueScaleSoftwareSupportkey,followthesesteps:
1. LogintoyouraccountontheTechnicalSupportportalat
support.spectralogic.com.
