Network and Support Contract Requirements Beforeyouconfigure
AutoSupport,SpectraLogicrecommendsconnectingthelibrarytoan
emailgateway.Youneedtodothefollowing:
ConnectanEthernetcabletotheEthernetconnectorontheLCM(see
Figure16onpage43).
Obtainthelibrary’s IPaddress,subnet,andgatewayaddress(see
ConfigureNetworkSettingsonpage116).
User Privilege Requirements Onlyauserwithsuperuseroradministrator
privilegescanconfiguretheAutoSupportfeatures.
Configure Mail Recipients
Ifnotalreadycompleted,configureoneormoremailrecipientswho
shouldreceiveAutoSupportinformation(seeConfigureMailUserson
page118).Ataminimum,configureSpectraLogicTechnicalSupport
(autosupport@spectralogic.com)asamailrecipientifyouwantto
automaticallysendAutoSupportticketrequeststoSpectraLogicTechnical
Support.Ifdesired,youcanconfigureadditionalrecipients.
Notes: Thedefaultautosupport@spectralogic.commailrecipientcanbe
usedforanyASLorHHMfilesthataregeneratedbythe
library.Thisincludesthosegeneratedmanually,or
automaticallyinresponsetocriticaleventsorlogforwarding.
Donotconfiguretheautosupport@spectralogic.commail
recipienttoreceivemessagesthatresultfromconfiguration
changesorsystemmessagesgeneratedbythelibrary.
AutoSupportcanbeusedwithoutemailaccessbysavingthe
informationgeneratedbyAutoSupporttoaUSBdeviceand
thenmanuallysendingthestoredinformationtoSpectra
LogicTechnicalSupport.
