Component Description
Drive Sled Thedrivesledprovidestheelectricalandlogicalconnectionstothelibrary,
aswellastheconnectionstothehostFibreChannelarbitratedlooporfabric.
Thedrivesledfirmwareassignsanidentifiertothedrivebasedonitslocation
inthelibrary(seeDriveIdentifiersonpage65).This
identifierisusedbythe
librarytoidentifythedrivesintheBlueScaleandXMLinterfac es.

Fibre Channel
Connectors
EachFibreChanneldrivesledhastwomulti‐modeopticalSFPLC
connectors(PortAandPortB)thatareusedtoconnectthedrivedirectlyto
aFibreChannelnetwork.Thetwoportsletyouconnecttwoseparatefiber
opticcablestoeachdrive.
SCSI Terminator EachSCSIdrivesledhasoneUltra‐3SCSI“LVD”68‐pinMicroDfemale
connector.AnLVDSCSI terminatorisinstalledontheconnector.
Note: SCSIdrivesrequireanF‐QIPtoprovidetheFibreChannel
connectivitytothehost.
Status LED Indicatestheoperationalstatusofthedrivesled(notthedrive).
