Machine Starting Procedure - Cold Start
4. Turn Park Brake (2) on.
5. Place Clutch Lever (3) in disengaged position (away
from engine).
6. Place Engine Speed Switch (4) in low/idle position.
7. Turn Ignition Switch to on position. If wait to start
screen appears, wait until main screen reappears to
start engine.
8. Turn Ignition Switch to start position until engine
starts then release switch.
NOTICE: Do not crank engine for more than 30
seconds. Allow starter to cool for two minutes before
cranking again.
9. If engine fails to start, turn Ignition Switch off, then
repeat steps 7 and 8.
10. Run engine at low idle for 3-5 minutes, then
increase engine speed to medium idle until engine
reaches operating temperature. After engine is
warmed up, reduce engine speed to low idle, and
turn engine off.
11. Engage clutch lever and restart engine.
12. If engine fails to start with pumps engaged, turn engine off, disengage clutch, start engine and
set engine speed switch to medium idle.
13. Quickly push clutch lever to engage flywheel, then quickly pull clutch lever to disengage. Repeat
2-3 times to get pumps turning, then quickly engage clutch lever fully.
NOTICE: Do not allow clutch to slip after engagement. If clutch slip occurs, disengage clutch
immediately to avoid damage.
14. Reduce engine rpm to low idle after clutch is engaged and pumps are turning.
NOTICE: Engage various hydraulic systems at lower engine speeds until hydraulic fluid is warm to
avoid system damage.
WARNING
Engaging clutch with engine running and Propel Lever out of neutral
could result in unexpected machine movement. Death or serious injury can
occur from falling or runover.
Make sure Propel Lever is in neutral and Park Brake is applied before
engaging clutch.
