Cleaning or Removing Material
Dump Hopper Cleanout
The dump hopper (1) is equipped with a full width
cleanout door (2) for access to dump hopper augers and
elevator slats and chain for cleaning and material
removal.
1. Use Manual Elevator Switch (3) on either dump
hopper control station to reverse the augers and
elevator if dump hopper is empty.
2. If material is in the dump hopper, alternate Manual
Elevator Switch (3) between reverse and forward to
attempt to free the augers and elevator.
NOTICE: Do not run hopper augers and elevator
continuously in reverse if hopper is nearly full. Auger
and hopper damage may occur if material is forced
against hopper walls by augers. Alternate elevator
between reverse and forward to free stalled elevator.
3. If elevator and dump hopper augers cannot be started, raise elevator/dump hopper assembly (4).
4. Securely support dump hopper/elevator in raised position with lift cylinder locks, or use suitable
blocking.
NOTICE: To prevent damage to elevator frame from twisting, block both sides of dump hopper.
Augers and conveyor chains and slats can crush or cut. Augers and
conveyors may start unexpectedly when manually removing material
from a stalled elevator.
Turn engine off before manually removing material from stalled elevator.
Contact with hot asphalt can cause severe burns.
Stay clear when opening cleanout door.
