Paving
Windrow Option
1. Start and warm up machine using "Machine Starting
Procedure"
, page 3-6.
2. Use spray down system to lubricate all components
that contact asphalt. Verify all clean out doors are
closed and latched.
3. Release windrow/elevator pivot locks (1) by rotating
handle perpendicular to pin.
4. Lower elevator (2) to approximately 1 ft (305 mm) off
the ground.
5. Place elevator in float position (3).
6. While elevator is in raised position, adjust float
pressure (4) until elevator drifts down.
If elevator drops rapidly, increase float pressure. If
elevator raises, decrease float pressure.
NOTICE: Too little pressure will cause excess wear on
windrow ground engaging components.
7. Lower elevator to the ground.
8. Adjust caster height (5) to set scraper approximately
0.25" (6 mm) off ground.
Casters and float pressure may need to be adjusted
periodically to achieve desired results.
9. Position guide chain marker to help maintain
machine position along the paving path. Position
discharge conveyor marker chain to help maintain
position of conveyor discharge chute over the paver
hopper.
