Machine Starting Procedure - Cold Start
MACHINE STARTING PROCEDURE - COLD START
Refer to the Engine Operation and Maintenance Manual supplied with machine for cold weather
starting instructions.
1. Place all controls in neutral or off position.
2. Turn Battery Ground Disconnect Switch (1) on.
3. Pull all Engine Stop Buttons out.
NOTICE: Do not adjust engine speed control during
start-up. The electronic control module (ECM) will
control engine speed during start-up.
WARNING
Good ventilation is very important. Sparks from the electrical system and
engine exhaust can cause an explosion or fire in a flammable or explosive
atmosphere. Carbon monoxide fumes from the engine can asphyxiate.
Do not operate this machine in an area with flammable vapors or dust.
Operate only outdoors or provide adequate ventilation if indoor operation
is essential.
WARNING
Runover possible.
To avoid unexpected machine movement or component motion, start
engine only from operator’s seat with controls in neutral and Park Brake
engaged. Never short across starter terminals to start engine.
WARNING
Aerosol starting aids are extremely flammable and could cause explosion.
Do not use aerosol starting aids such as ether.
WARNING
Runover possible. Contact with moving parts can cut or crush.
Make sure no one is working on, underneath, or close to machine before
starting engine or moving machine. Ensure area is free of personnel. Keep
spectators away.
