A gentle, counter-clockwise motion (as viewed from the bottom of the
tip-change tool) applied to the tip-change tool will extract the
tip-retaining nut and tip from the shaft when the tool is properly docked
to the tip-retaining nut, as shown in
Figure 6-39.

5 Turn the tip-change tool counterclockwise until the nut and indenter
are fully detached from the shaft. As shown in
Figure 6-40, the
indenter floats freely in the retaining nut, so keep the tool in a
vertical orientation when removing or replacing the tip to avoid
dumping the tip from the nut.
