Look at the load-displacement curve for the first test. It should be
similar to the one shown in
Figure 2-61. The origin of this plot is the
point at which the indenter first came into contact with the test surface.
The approximate depth of the residual impression left by this test is the
intersection of the unloading (right-most) curve and the X axis. In the
example shown, the depth of the residual impression is 1050
nm.
