Creating multiple samples
Intheexampleproceduredescribedabove,several
indexeswerecreated(bypressingtheCreatebutton
severaltimes),andthensampleswereassignedtoeach
“Index.”
Asanalternativemethod,itisalsopossibletocreate
oneindex,sampleintoit,andthenrepeatthesetwo
steps.
1. PresstheCreatebuttononceto
createanindex.
2. Recordasample.
Therecordedsamplewillautomaticallybeassigned
totheindexyoucreatedinstep1.
3. Repeatsteps1and2.
Thisisanefficientwaytorecordmultiplesamples.
Assigning samples to the pads
Bydefault,pads1–8correspondtotheC2–G2keys.
Forexample,thedefault“Index”settingfor001/008
sets“OrigKey”and“TopKey”toC2.Theassigned
samplewillsoundwhenyouplaytheC2key.The
samesamplewillalsosoundwhenyoustrikepad1.
Similarly,ifyouassignsamplesto
“Index”002–008,the
samplesthatsoundwhenyouplaytheC#2–G2keys
willalsosoundwhenyoustrikepads2–8.
IfyoupressthePADMODEswitchtomake
VELOCITYSENSITIVElight,youwillbeableto
changethevolumebyadjustingtheforcewithwhich
youstrikethepads.If
youmakeFIXEDVELOCITY
light,thevolumewillbeaccordingtothevelocity
valuesspecifiedintheSamplingP4:EQ/Controller–
PadsSetuppage.
Foreachpad,youcanchangethenotenumbersused
toplaysamples.
ThesesettingsaremadeintheSamplingP4:
EQ/Controller–PadsSetuppage.Forexample,you
mightassigntheinfrequently‐playedhighesteight
notesofthe76‐notekeyboard(C7–G7)tocorrespond
tothepads.Tomakethesetting,selectthenotenumber
field,andplaythedesiredkeywhileholdingdownthe
ENTERswitch.
