11.2.5.9 Defining Password Management
Configurable Data
Minimum Length - Valid range for user passwords is (8 to 64) characters in length. Default value is
8.
Aging (days) - The maximum time that user passwords are valid, in days, from the time the
password is set. Once a password expires, the user will be required to enter a new password
following the first login after password expiration. A value of 0 indicates that passwords never expire.
Lockout Attempts - The number of allowable failed local authentication attempts before the user's
account is locked. The value ranges from (1 to 5). A value of 0 indicates that user accounts will never
be locked. Default value is 0.
Strength Check - Enable or disable the password strength check feature. Enabling this feature
forces the user to configure passwords that comply with the strong password configuration. Default
value is Disable.
History - The number of previous passwords to store for prevention of password reuse. This
ensures that each user does not reuse passwords often. The value ranges from (0 to 10). A value of
0 indicates that no previous passwords will be stored. Default value is 0.
Lockout Attempts - The number of allowable failed local authentication attempts before the user's
account is locked. The value ranges from (1 to 5). A value of 0 indicates that user accounts will never
be locked. Default value is 0.
Minimum Number of Uppercase Letters - Valid range for user passwords is (0 to 16) number of
characters. Default value is 2.
Minimum Number of Lowercase Letters - Valid range for user passwords is (0 to 16) number of
characters. Default value is 2.
Minimum Number of Numeric Characters - Valid range for user passwords is (0 to 16) number of
characters. Default value is 2.
