(2) Color Toner Cartridge Detection
The color toner cartridge sensor [D] is located at the lower right side of the
development unit. While the development unit rotates, this sensor (which is a
reflective photosensor) detects the presence of each color toner cartridge
(CMY).
When the revolver is in the home position (Bk toner development position),
the machine can detect the Bk cartridge and magenta cartidge at the same
time. The yellow and cyan cartridges are detected when the cartridge is in
the replacement position (see Revolver Positioning - Toner End Condition for
more about the replacement position).
Yellow: 90° from the revolver home position
Cyan: 270° from the revolver home position

6.2.8 Color Toner Positioning Pin
Each color toner cartridge has pins at the rear side. The pins are at different
positions on the cartridge to prevent a color cartridge from being installed at
the wrong color position.
