17. ECG Monitoring
Description of warning and caution
WARNING: Keep the safety distance from the patient before installing. Install the patient
monitor in a safe place.
WARNING: Use only ECG cable supplied with VM15. The other brand of ECG Cable may be
the cause of the damaging patient monitor. And the safety of the patient cannot be protected
when the defibrillator is used.
WARNING: Please do not touch the patient monitor when you are using the electro surgical
units. It may give the damage to the patient, the incorrect measuring value.
WARNING: Do not touch any part of patient monitor or the patient when the defibrillator is
on use.
WARNING: Do not use the damaged ECG cable and LEAD.
WARNING: VM15 is non waterproof product. Do not put it into liquids or clean with water.
WARNING: Keep the patient monitor away from direct sun light, ultraviolet light, steam,
peroxide of hydrogen. (Do not sterilize the patient monitor with the mentioned one.
WARNING: Do not use disposable electrode repeatedly. Change the electrode if the gel is
dried.
WARNING: VM15 has the protection circuit from Defibrillator. But the measuring value can
be influenced by the defibrillator and Electro Surgical Unit.
WARNING: H/R can be continuously measured when the arrhythmia happens to the patient
with pacemaker.
Select ‘Use’ at the menu of ECG Wave for the patient with pacemaker for this function.
Observe continuous the attention to the patient. Do not rely only on the patient alarm.
WARNING: VM15 may happen wrong alarm or not operate alarm for arrhythmia analysis
sometimes. Because there are many various patients. The arrhythmia analysis is to use
monitoring for patient’s rhythm and hospital staffs seriously pay attention for emergency
patient.
Arrhythmia not work Check “SETUP -> BEEP SINGNAL -> SpO2”
If SpO2 beep priority is set. Arrhythmia function does not work
WARNING: Do not use the monitoring filter for waveform analysis. It shows a lot of distorted
waveforms. Check the filter before analyzing the ECG waveform.
WARNING: “Administrator mode” Depending on the setting, an alarm delay may occur.
WARNING: When using electrosurgical units (ESU), patient leads should be placed in a
position that is equal distance from the Electrosurgery electrotome and the grounding plate
to avoid burns to the patient. Never entangle the ESU cable and the ECG cable together.
