General
The optional device PHASEIN Module of VM-15 does not select anesthetic gas but
automatically detect anesthetic gas. (EtCO2 and N2O are always basically detected.)
The concentration and waveform of the most concentrated anesthetic gas is displayed on
screen.
Description of IRMA Mainstream Analyzers
The IRMA CO2 main stream CO2 probe is intended to be connected to other medical devices
for display of real time and derived monitoring data of CO2.
The IRMA AX+ main stream multi-gas probe is intended to be connected to other medical
devices for display of real time and derived monitoring data of CO2, N2O, and the anesthetic
agents Halothane, Enflurane, Isoflurane, Sevoflurane and Desflurane.
It is intended to be connected to a patient breathing circuit for monitoring of inspired/expired
gases during anesthesia, recovery and respiratory care. It may be used in the operating suite,
intensive care unit, patient room and emergency medicine settings for adult, pediatric and
infant patients.
It is not intended to be used as the only means of monitoring a patient. It shall always be
used in combination with other vital signs monitoring devices and/or professional
human judgments of patient condition. The IRMA probe is intended to be used by trained
and authorized health care professionals only.
Description of ISA Sidestream Analyzers
The ISA product family consists of two types of Sidestream gas analyzers (ISA CO2, ISA AX+),
which are intended to be connected to other medical host devices for monitoring of breath
rate and the following breathing gases.
ISA CO2: CO2
ISA AX+: CO2, N2O, Halothane, Isoflurane, Enflurane, Sevoflurane and Desflurane
ISA CO2, ISA AX+ are intended to be connected to a patient breathing circuit for the
monitoring of inspired/expired gases during anesthesia, recovery and respiratory care. The
intended environment is the operating suite, intensive care unit and patient room. ISA CO2
is also intended to be used in road ambulances. The intended patient population is adult,
pediatric and infant patients.
They are only intended to be connected to medical devices approved by PHASEIN AB.
NOTE
An ISA Sidestream gas analyzer should never be used as the only means
of monitoring a patient.
