Theory of Operation
Secondary Transfer
In the secondary transfer process, the toner image completed on the surface of
the transfer belt is transferred onto the print medium using the Transfer Roller. The
print medium passes between the Transfer Roller and the transfer belt that runs in
contact with the conductive roller (back up roller).
The toner image on the transfer belt moves onto the print medium due to the
attracting force generated between the back up roller negatively charged by the
HVPS and the Transfer Roller grounded and positively polarized.
