l If the check box is selected, you will not see any further messages and are able to scan upon entry to Scan mode.
l If the check box is not selected, you will be blocked from accessing Scan mode and will have to confirm the new
wand barrier sleeve, as described in the following section.
4.4.3.2 Confirming the new wand barrier sleeve when accessing Scan mode
If you did not select the New sleeve attached check box when filling in the new Rx, the following popup message is
displayed when tapping the Scan tool .

You are blocked from scanning until you tap OK on the screen or press either of the wand buttons.
4.5 Scanning the patient
After you have filled in the Rx, tap on the toolbar to enter Scan mode. The Scan window is displayed, enabling
you to start scanning the patient.
The iTero Element 5D scanner provides simultaneous capture and display of NIRI, 2D color images, and 3D intraoral
optical impression data.
While scanning, you can perform the following actions:
l View additional scan feedback, described in section 4.5.3.1
l Toggle between color and monochrome mode, described in section 4.5.3.2
