Thiscontrolsthelev eloftheexternalaudiosignal.The
defaultis127.
TheanalogaudiosignalsfromAUDIOINPUTS1–4are
convertedintodigitalformbyanA/Dconverter.This
parametersetsthelevelofthesignalimmediatelyafter
thisconversion.
Ifthesoundisdistortedeventhoughthislevelsetting
isverylow,see“Tipsforeliminatingdistortionwhen
usingtheanaloginputs”onpage 108.
Avoiding extraneous noise
IfaudiocablesareconnectedtoAUDIOINPUTS1–
4,anynoisecarriedbythecableswillenterintothe
OASYSmixerstructure.Similarly,theS/P DIFinput
maycarrynoisefromexternaldevices.Thismay
includehiss,hum,andotheraudionoise.
Toavoidnoisefromunusedaudioinputs,either:
•Setthe
input’sLevelto0
or
•SetallofthebusassignmentstoOff,includingBus
Select(IFX/Indiv.OutAssign),RECBus,andFX
ControlBus
IfnoaudiocablesareconnectedtoAUDIOINPUTS
1–4,theinputsignalsareforcedtozero,preventing
anyadditionalnoise.
Audio Track Mixer
Youcanspecifytheaudiosourcetorecordfrom,and
changethePlay/Mutestatus,SOLOstatus,pan,and
volumeforplayback.
REC Source
Thisselectsthesourcethatwillberecordedonthe
track.Thesignalofthebuslineyouspecifyherewillbe
recorded.Seebelowforadiagramofbuseswhen
recordingfromtheaudioinputs;formoredetailed
diagrams,seeunder“0–2:AudioTrackMixeron
page 477oftheParameter
Guide.
Ifyousetthe“TrackSelect”fieldtoAudioTrack,you
willbeabletomonitortheRECSourceofthattrack.
Themodeofoperationwilldifferdependingon
whetheradjacentaudiotracksarepaired(“Stereo
Pair)ornot.

AUDIOINPUT1willbeinputtotheoddnumbered
track,andAUDIOINPUT2willbeinputtotheeven

S/P DIFL/Rwillbeinputtotheoddnumberedand
evennumberedtracksrespectively.
L,R,L/R:TheL/Rbusafterpassingthrough
TFX1and
2willberecorded.Choosethisifyouwanttorecordan
externalaudiosignalbeingsenttotheL/Rbus,orthe
soundbeingproducedbytheOASYS(andsenttothe
L/Rbus)inresponsetosequencerplayback,keyboard
playing,orMIDIinput.
If“StereoPair
ison,Lissenttooddnumberedtracks,
andRissenttoevennumberedtracks.
REC1,2,1/2,REC3,4,3/4:TheREC1/2orREC3/4
buseswillberecorded.Choosethisifyouwantto
recordonlytheaudioinputwhilehearingthe
sequencerplayback
andyourkeyboardplayingfrom
theL/Routputs.Youcanalsomixseveralaudioinputs
totheRECbuses,orusetheRECbusestomixthe
directsoundfromtheaudioinputswiththesound
processedbyinserteffects,andrecordtheresult.
If“StereoPairison,RECbus
1(3)issenttoodd
numberedtracks,andRECbus2(4)issenttoeven
numberedtracks.
Indiv.1…8,Indiv.1/2,Indiv.3/4,Indiv.5/6,Indiv.7/8:
TheIndiv.1/2–Indiv.7/8buseswillberecorded.
SimilarlytowhenusingtheRECbuses,youcanchoose

Play/Rec/Mute
Usethistomuteanaudiotrack,ortoselectthe
recordingtracksformultitrackrecording.During
playback,orforsingletrackrecording(normal
recording),itispossibleonlytosele ctPlayorMutefor
tracks(playbacktracks)otherthantherecordingtrack.
Formultitrackrecording,trackscanbe
settoPlay,
Mute,orRec.Thesettingwillalternateeachtimeyou
pressthePlay/Rec/Mutebutton.
Solo On/Off
ThisturnstheSolofunctionon/off.
