5.6 Windrower Lubrication
WARNING
To avoid personal injury, before servicing windrower or opening drive covers, follow procedures in the
SAFETY section.
The greasing points a re marked on the machine by
decals showing a grease gun and grease interval in hours
of operation.
Log hours of operation and use the Maintenance Checklist
provided to keep a record of scheduled maintenance.
Refer to Maintenance Schedule/Record, page 315.

5.6.1 L ubricating the Windrower

e and remove key from ignition before leaving operator's seat for any reason. A child or even a
pet could e
ngage an idling machine.
1. To avoid injecting dirt and grit, wipe grease fitting with a clean cloth before greasing.
2. Inject grease through fitting with grease gun until grease overflows fitting, except where noted. Refer to
Lubricants, Fluids, and System Capacities, page 199.
3. Leave excess grease on fitting to keep out dirt.
4. Replace any loose or broken fittings immediately.
5. If fitting will NOT take grease, remove and clean thoroughly. Also clean lubricant passageway. Replace fitting
if necessary.
