MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
IMPORTANT:
BATTE RY IS NEGATIVE GROUNDED. Always connect
starter cable to the positive (+) terminal of battery and
battery ground cable to negative (-) terminal of battery.
Reversed polarity in battery or alternator may result in
permanent damage to electrical syst em.
3. Attach negative (black) cable clamps (B and D) to
negative post on batteries and tighten clamps.
4. Attach positive (red) cable clamps (A and C) to positive
post on batteries and tighten. Position plastic covers
onto clamps.
5. Close the platform, refer to 5.5.2 Closing Platform
(Standard Position), page 206.
6. Close the hood, refer to 5.4.4 Closing Ho od (Highe st
Position), page 204.

Connecting Batteries
DANGER
Stop engine and remove key from ignition before leaving operator's seat for any reason. A child or even a
pet could engage an idling machine.
1. Stop the engine and remove the key.
2. The battery main disconnect switch (A) is located on
the right-hand frame rail beside the batteries. Ensure
battery switch (A) is switch ed t o POWER OFF pos itio n.
3. Remove cable ties securing battery cables to
battery clamp.
IMPORTANT:
BATTE RY IS NEGATIVE GROUNDED. Always connect
red starter cable to the positive (+) terminal of battery
and black ground cable to negative (-) terminal of battery.
Reversed polarity in battery or alternator may result in
permanent damage to electrical syst em.
