Serial Port Automatic Messages
Serial Port Automatic Messages
When the serial port AUTO setting is Y, the relay sends automatic messages to
indicate specific conditions. The automatic messages are described in
Table 10.5.
When the serial port AUTO setting is DTA, the SEL-351A is compatible with
the SEL-DTA2 on that port. The MET and MET D command responses are
modified to comply with the DTA2 data format for that port.
Table 10.5 Serial Port Automatic Messages
Condition Description
Power Up The relay sends a message containing the present date and time,
Relay and Terminal Identifiers, and the Access Level 0 prompt when
the relay is turned on.
Event Trigger The relay sends an event summary each time an event report is
triggered. See Section 12: Standard Event Reports and SER.
Group Switch The relay displays the active settings group after a group switch
occurs. See GRO n Command (Change Active Setting Group) on
page 10.35.
Self-Test Warning
or Failure
The relay sends a status report each time a self-test warning or
failure condition is detected. See STA Command (Relay Self-Test
Status) on page 10.28.
